Solution / Points List
This walkthrough won't give directions in the way of going north or west twice. It just lists what to do in certain locations. It should be easy to figure out what to do where if you use the maps in the appropriate section. If the "talk" action is listed, you'll have to talk to the person as often as possible before continuing. In order to allow people to look up the answer to a puzzle without spoiling too much, this section has been divided into parts. Similar to the hint section, clicking on the part where you're stuck displays the list of actions needed to continue as well as the points you can earn there.

Arrival in Kolyma

Helping Possum/Getting the flower
  • Clearing south of Hagatha's cave:
    Talk to girl
  • Random countryside screen:
    Get basket (won't appear until you've talked to Possum) (1)
  • Clearing south of Hagatha's cave:
    Return basket to Possum and get flower from her (1)

  • Under the sea:

Getting illumination

    Hide in chest (only if you hear dwarf approaching)
  • Grandma's cottage:

Finding your way through the swamp
  • Swamp:
    Look at Bible page and look at the first letter of each word. Go south, east, north or west depending on whether the word starts with an S, E, N or W. The first screen also counts. (which is why the poem always starts with an S)
Getting to the castle
  • Poisonous lake:
    Talk to ferryman
    Pay ferryman with the gold coins (1)
  • Path with thorns:
    Eat sugar cube (1)
Getting inside the castle
  • Castle gate:
    Approach door (ghosts will leave if you're wearing the cloak) (1)
    Unlock door with cross

  • Castle graveyard:
    Show bracelet to ghosts (the castle graveyard is west of the castle gate)
    Place bracelet on grave of Anastasia's parents (1)
    Take gold ring (1)
    Find the grave with the date of "first, second and double nothing" (i.e: 1200)
    Dig at that grave (1)
    Search the grave and memorize the info about the person mentioned in the parchment
    Return to the boat, let the ferryman take you across the lake and visit Granny's cottage.
  • Cottage:
    Enter and search under the pillow to get wolf's bane. If the wolf is in there, quickly get out. Keep trying until he isn't there.
Church revisited
  • Church:
    Look at circle and robes
    Read journal on altar (1)
    Exit south towards the cemetery
  • Church cemetery:
    Find gravestone of Larmon Odnarb, the healer
    Dig at the right grave (1)
    Obtain the tiara (8)
    Exit the church and go back towards the swamp
    You'll be attacked by wolves at the crossroads
  • Crossroads:
    Use wolf's bane on yourself to ward off wolves. (1)
    Return to Caldaur's castle
    You'll be ambushed at the lakeshore
Ambush at the lake
  • Poisonous lake:
    Take reed (1)
    Dip needle in poisonous water (1)
    Put poisonous needle in reed (1)
    Shoot the poisonous dart at the leader (1)
  • Dining room:
    Count Caldaur will give you the Death Gem (8)
    Leave the castle, go through the swamp and head back to the town

Meeting with the Maiden from the Mirror

Your gems or your life!
  • Rickety bridge:
    You'll become stuck when you fall through one of the planks
    The dwarf will appear and will tell you to hand over the gems or die
    Put the gems in the cloth (1)
    Toss the cloth with the gems to the other side of the chasm
    Talk to the dwarf. He'll toss you his knife (1)
    Cut the rope near your leg (1)
    Quickly click the hand on the bridge above you to climb up
Unlocking the Door
  • Door of destiny:
    Get the gems out of the cloth
    Insert the Birth Gem into the door (2)
    Insert the Growth Gem into the door (3)
    Insert the Death Gem into the door (3)
    Choose to be transported to the Tower Realm
The enchanted realm
  • Cliff area:
    Use the net to fish. Keep trying until you catch one
    Pick up fish (1)
    Throw him back into the ocean (1)
    Climb on the fish' back to get a ride across the ocean (1)
The enchanted island
  • Beach of island:
    Go to the southeastern part of the island and look for a spot in the sand that stands out from the rest
    Step on the spot
    Read the lines in the sand
    Place your hand on the lines and you'll teleport to the small island

  • Tiny island:
    Take stone of quartz
    Step on odd spot on the left part of the island
    Read lines in the sand
    Climb the palm tree

    Follow the riddle of the one on the right

    Select the symbols air, sun, water, mountain in that order (1)
Getting past the lion
  • Quartz tower:
    Go up the stairs
    Use the emerald on the lion (4)
    Take the lion fur (1)
    Move the bar in front of the door and enter
Sleeping beauty
  • Valanice' room:
    Look at Valanice
    Use emerald on Valanice
    Move mirror
    Tilt mirror
    Use emerald on Valanice (4)
    Kiss Valanice
    Hagatha will appear
Final confrontation
  • Valanice' room:
    Put lion hair in youth potion
    Give tainted youth potion to Hagatha (1)
    Tilt mirror to dazzle Hagatha, making her recoil and fall down (1)
    Talk to Valanice (1)
    You'll leave through the portal and end up in Hagatha's cave
  • Inside Hagatha's cave:
    Take the magic orb on the table. It'll reveal the truth about the enchanted realm (2)
    Leave Hagatha's cave. Count Caldaur will be waiting. The wedding takes place in his castle.

Alternate Solutions

Get a candle
  • If you don't get a candle from the pumpkin, you can obtain one in the library of the castle. (1) Since it's already lit, you won't receive another point for lighting it)
Get the monk to talk to you
  • Instead of praying next to the monk, you can also donate a treasure in the donation box. (-1)
Pay the ferryman
  • You can also pay the ferryman with the earrings or brooch. (-1)
Survive the attack of the wolves at the crossroads
  • You can slay the wolves with your sword or quickly run away. (0)
Cross the enchanted ocean
  • If the fish is already dead, you can cut him open, eat his flesh and swim to the island yourself. (1)
Get past the lion
  • You can kill the lion or mesmerize him (0) or give him the ham. (1)
Deal with Hagatha
  • If you don't have the youth potion, you can toss the lion fur into Hagatha's face to make her start sneezing and then toss the net at her and she'll be dragged over the edge of the balcony. (1)
