They talk about game development and the reason why they have created the game: - First, could you tell about your game career? Henrik Schmidt: I started with a Commodore C64 around 1980. I did no programming, just played games. I still remember golden oldies like Elite or Silent Service by Sid Meier. Some years later I purchased an Amiga 2000 with a 20 MB harddisk for lots of money. That time, I discovered a small shareware game, called Mechforce. Its graphics and sound were very simple, but the gameplay was brilliant. I played it for tons of hours and still remember the nights three friends and I gathered in front of the monitor. In the early 90's, I followed the trend and bought my first personal computer (PC). By then, Vicious Byte (my games company) was founded for one reason: we would like to do our own version of Mechforce, callled Titans of Steel. >> Read further: http://www.dosgamesarchive.com/intviews/vicbyte + News and site updates In the future, we will place news and updates on the start page of the site. While Wolfenstein 3D's concept was nothing revolutionary, its nearly flawless implementation, presentation, and use of technology helped catapult id Software to its current superstar status. Released during the glory days of shareware, still a few years before the Internet became mainstreamed, Wolfenstein 3D's shareware version (and the full version as well, in some cases) was widely distributed via thousands of BBS's (Bulletin Board Systems) and passed along to countless friends via floppies. While no one will ever know exactly how many people played the shareware version of Wolfenstein 3D (millions), over 250,000 copies were sold direct via mail order and limited retail distribution. >> Read further: http://www.dosgamesarchive.com/features/wolf3d + Hosted sites We host three more sites.
