Description (by MrFlibble)

Fruit Salad is a bubble-matching game similar to Puzzle Bobble / Bust-A-Move 2: Arcade Edition. The objective of each level is to clear away all fruit by matching three or more of the same colour. The playing field gets progressively smaller, and if any fruit left crosses the line at the bottom, it's game over.

There are two game modes: normal mode with pre-designed levels, and random mode with an infinite variety of randomly generated patterns of fruit. Fruit Salad introduces two original elements: first, the player can shoot a limited number of projectiles that will instantly remove all fruit of the same colour from the screen. And second, there are indestructible black fruit that can only be removed if by removing other fruit to which they are attached.

Fruit Salad was distributed under what the author called "what-you-want-ware" - a form of donationware where users were encouraged to send something nice to the author, like a postcard or a small gift.
