Game description
Grand Prix II is the direct sequel to World Circuit and a licensed Formula One racing simulation. The numerous enhancements over the previous game include the high-resolution SVGA mode, texture mapping, more detailed cars and tracks, car physics simulation and realistic representation of various car failures.
The game is generally based on the 1994 Formula One season with certain small differences from the real thing, and offers the full course of the season, from qualification racing to the actual competition, featuring likenesses of real teams and drivers. Grand Prix II received acclaim as one of the most powerful racing simulations of the time, but it also offers players various driving aids that reduce difficulty and offer a simpler, more arcade-like experience.
The playable demo, originally only available on CD-ROM, includes the option to do a quick race, and also showcases features from the full game. You will need to download the demo from an external site and mount it in DOSBox as a CD image to make it work.
