Game description
HUUHKAJA (which means 'owl' in Finnish) is a surprisingly good amateur chess programme written by just one person in QuickBasic 4.5. It does not play as strong as professional chess programmes, but can still prove challenging for beginner or non-serious players. The graphical interface is nothing fancy but does not look excessively crude either, making this a pleasant pastime for chess and DOS game lovers alike.
The game was originally marketed as shareware, but as of the latest version, the author (who is only known by the initials J.H) declared the game freeware.
