Game description
Jet Pack Rat is a very authentic-feeling and fun retro platform game that requires both skill and memory to succeed. The player controls a rat equipped with a jetpack and out to collect treasure! (don't ask) The rat can also walk and jump up a little, but the jetpack, which thrusts the rat diagonally upwards in either direction, only works for a limited time before you lose altitude and ultimately have to land before it may be used again.
There are many coins scattered around levels, but also flippable cards that have no realistic explanation, but will give certain bonuses. The player must beware of hazards such as water, spikes and roaming purple monsters, contact with which is always lethal. However, the rat can use Molotov cocktails to destroy the monsters to move around more freely.
Jet Pack Rat appears to be based on Recreational Software Designs' Game-Maker and is distributed as freeware under the MIT license.
