Game description
Moon Child is a non-violent arcade-style platform game with very nice visuals and exploration-oriented gameplay. The title character is a green little elf in red pajamas who runs and jumps around on a quest to find at least 77 Dark Diamonds. There are various hazards, traps and even dangerous creatures roaming about that make things a bit difficult, but with some speed and nimbleness they can be overcome.
The game was originally developed for Windows 95 PCs (while retaining very noticeable Amiga aesthetics) and sold commercially, but because of the publisher's troubles it only saw a release in the Netherlands and remained relatively unknown to the rest of the world. Eventually the authors made their own ports to other platforms, declared Moon Child freeware and also released its source code under the MIT license. The unofficial DOS port is still in development but is already playable.
