Game description
System Shock was a revolutionary game for its time, blending first-person action, adventure and role-playing elements into a unique experience that was later termed an "immersive sim".
In the cyberpunk future of System Shock, the player controls a skilled hacker trapped on the Citadel space station, which has been taken over by the sinister AI, SHODAN. The last person left alive, the main character must explore the station and find ways and means to defeat SHODAN once and for all. There are numerous items, puzzles and enemies to be fought in real time, as well as cyberspace to be hacked and many logs to read and slowly uncover what happened on the station and how to put it to an end.
The playable demo allows to explore the first level out of ten in the full game. The source code is available under the GPL license, and a Windows-native port can be purchased from digital stores.
