Game description

The Magic Candle II is an overhead-view fantasy role-playing game typical of the very early 90s. There's a complex plot of a kingdom in distress, and the player starts with a single character who must assemble a party to successfully tackle the problems of the realm.

The game world is presented in a very nicely drawn overhead panoramic view with a remarkable level of detail, considering the low screen resolution and the limited palette. There are many NPCs to talk to, and lots of items, equipment and skills the players can learn. Parts of the narrative were only available in the printed book that came with the game, which only makes references to specific paragraphs during character dialogue for extended exposition.

The playable demo allows to explore the first island, and buyers of the full game could continue their adventure by installing it into the same directory as the demo.
