Game description
ChessGenius is a series of chess programmes by Richard Lang, who also authored Cyrus and Psion Chess. The third instalment is a versatile and highly configurable programme with a clean, simple interface.
The game offers adjustable AI and many other user options, Computer vs. Computer play, various notations and hints, user books and databases. It will save the current game upon exit and offer to resume play the next time the programme is started. The interface is available in multiple languages.
ChessGenius 3 was originally a commercial product, but author Richard Lang has declared the game freeware since. In the 90s, this version was considered one of the strongest-playing chess programmes of its time.
