Game description

With the overwhelming success of Command & Conquer, a follow-up game was inevitable, but instead of a direct sequel, Westwood Studios went for a campier alternate history Cold War narrative, intending to tie it in with the Tiberium universe.

What if Einstein travelled back in time and eliminated Hitler before he came to power? Now it's the Soviets versus the Allies, that's what. Red Alert retains and polishes the original C&C's formula for more intense battles, more intricate scenarios and more live-action and 90s CGI movies than ever.

This beloved classic enjoyed its share of success after the initial 1996 release and two expansion packs, and on 31 August 2008 Electronic Arts released the full version as freeware to celebrate 13 years of Command & Conquer (please see the links section for downloads). A fully remastered version also came out in 2020, available from Steam.
