Game description

Llamatron is a clone of the arcade game Robotron: 2084 with a llama for the main character. It is a fixed-screen shooter where the llama is being swarmed by monsters from all sides, and must manoeuvre itself around to avoid touching them while firing a continuous stream of projectiles to defend itself. The objective is to clear the screen of all hostiles. The llama can also pick up stranded animals, such as goats or camels, which gives a temporary firepower bonus. Other bonuses may be occasionally collected from slain enemies as well.

The llama normally fires projectiles in the direction of its movement, but holding the space bar allows to keep firing in the current direction while moving in another.

Llamatron was originally marketed as shareware, but on 8 February 1997 author Jeff Minter released this game as freeware along with Revenge of the Mutant Camels.
