Game description
If you haven't had enough of Dune II: The Building of A Dynasty and are looking for more, look no further. Paranoia! is a rather obscure Czech real-time strategy game that is for the most part almost identical to Westwood Studios' classic and the grandfather of all RTS games.
There's the usual story about a distant planet called Paranoia, which is the home of a rare and important resource, hopsinky. People want it, so, naturally, "vast armies have arrived", as shown in what is basically a reenactment of the Dune II intro sequence rendered in SVGA resolution. Gameplay wise, there are various superficial differences like hopsinky being harvested by manual labour, and having to build directly on sand instead of rocks. But the core gameplay is unchanged, you build up forces and direct your underlings, one by one, to crush all opposition and wipe out enemy presence.
After the initial commercial release, the developers declared the game freeware in 2001. An interactive demo was also published on the coverdisk of the Score gaming magazine.
