Game description
SALS is a civilian flight simulator that specifically focusses on landing the Space Shuttle, already in atmosphere, on the Kennedy Space Center runway. The game was pitched as a serious product with an emphasis on realism, and features rather advanced (for its time) graphics and 3D world modelling. The game was later renamed Precision Approach.
The playable demo is pretty odd. In theory, it should allow to land the shuttle from one of several starting conditions available in the full game, but the developers limited manual control to horizontal pitch only, leaving the player without much to do. It is also expected to be played with a joystick, although keyboard control is possible.
