Description (by MrFlibble)
WAR, Inc. attempts to put a twist on the classic Command & Conquer real-time strategy (RTS) formula by marrying it with global company management, development and finance along the lines of X-COM: UFO Defense and Syndicate.
It is the year 2020 and you are in control of a private military company. Earn money by taking contracts from interested parties all over the world, invest in research of new military technologies, buy out stocks of players in the related markets to become a vertically integrated military giant with the entire mines-to-battlefield production chain in your hands.
The missions themselves play more or less like what you'd expect from a post-Command & Conquer RTS, but the base-building phase and the actual combat phase(s) are separated, and occur on different maps. Once you're set up and pumped out enough units (infantry comes from cloning vats no less), you can assign them to one of three battle groups and send each (or all) against the designated objectives of the current contract.
The demo v1.0 allows to play one such contract on easy difficulty. The earlier Alpha Demo gives you two missions but is less polished.
