Game description

Gunship is a combat helicopter flight simulator that lets you pilot the AH-64 Apache gunship in the late-80s Cold War environment. The game might look vary dated by today's standards, but it was actually using revolutionary technology back when it was released, featuring fully 3D rendered terrain and objects in generally the same way as the later generations of helicopter flight sims like Apache or HIND: The Russian Combat Helicopter Simulation do.

As in other MicroProse flight simulation games, you can select the operational theatre, enemy difficulty and the level of flight realism for highly customizable missions, with the objectives generated randomly each time you play depending on the selected scenario parameters.

Gunship's success paved the way to other combat flight sims using similar engine technology, such as F-19 Stealth Fighter. A much more updated enhanced remake called Gunship 2000 was released in 1991.
